Two Months In Nipawin

I'm not really good at keeping up with my blog by the looks of it. These last two months have gone by really quickly. Jordan's been busy with home work and keeping up with his reading. He's been doing really well at his schooling and keeping up with his assignments. God's been blessing him richly with understanding and growth in his walk with God. I'm really thankful for that because Jordan's desire to serve is rubbing off on my or so I like to think.
I'm busy at the I.G.A. This past week I've been running around like there's no tomorrow. I'm not sure if I like the dallor days deals at work. It's almost impossible to keep up with the demand of the customers. Other than that work is going really well. I have a great boss to work with as well as the other people on staff.
Adjusting to life here in Nipawin has been going well. I'm not as involved with campus events as I would like to but that's the way life is. We're all settled into our home and making great friends with other couples on campus as well as the single students that are here. God's been so wonderful to us.
I have one more thing to say. Jordan and I were supposed to get our insurince bill in August. We never did get it and have no idea who has it. When we called in to ask about it the bill had been paid. What an amazing gift!! Thank you to who ever paid the bill. God is so good to us.

Have a great night.

Moved In

So life as we've known it for the last year has changed. This past Friday Jordan and I moved to Nipawin which was an 18 hour drive. Other than our 5 minute stops we drove the whole way. I do not recommend doing this with a bunch of stuff. Saturday afternoon we unloaded our unit and started to unpack, by about 11 that night we were done with most everything. So to show you our new abode here are some pictures.

Well I hope these pictures will give you all a bit of an idea as to what we live in. I'm not sure what order they will appear but oh well. Today was my first day at I.G.A. It wasn't bad for not knowing what I was really getting into. The people there seem really nice and I'm sure I'll be able to get to know them well. This is all for now, talk to you later.

Moving

Well, it's been a while since my last post. We were without a computer for a while so here it goes. As some of you know Jordan and I are moving. In two weeks time we will be heading out to Nipawin Saskatchewan for another college year. Okay, so Jordan will be attending college and I'll be working to support him. Wow how roles can change. I'm looking forward to the move for the purpose of meeting friends and making new friends. I'm not looking forward to leaving La Crete now that I've gotten used to being back. Things have been busy with us getting together with friends one last time before we leave. Along with not being home we're trying to find time to pack all our stuff. It's crazy how much two people accumulate in a year. I'm not sure I want to know what it'll be like once we start having a family.
Tomorrow is my last day of work at Twilight Dental which means I've gotta do some more job hunting. I'm not really looking forward to a starting a new job, but we gotta eat so I'm going to have to get over that part. I'm sure it'll be much better than what I'm imagining.
The way things look, we may be gone for two years depending on were we feel God leading us. Who knows we might end up some where very unexpected....
Gotta go, Jordan just got home so it's supper time! Corn on the cob.... yum!

Doerksen Family Camp out

This past weekend Jordan and I were able to join in the fun at his family camp out. I was nervous and excited to meet his extended family. They are wonderful people and I felt like part of the family almost immediately. Here are some pictures of the weekend.

Carpenters

Yesterday Jordan and I had the chance to help build my parents patio along with my brothers and sisters. We weren't entirely sure what we were doing or how our mom wanted it. As it goes we "wung it" Here are some pictures of our time together.

This past week Lindsay came to stay with us and we had a wonderful time visiting. During her week stay with us, we were able to do a few different things. We took a day trip to the North West Territories, went out for a quad ride with others, had a volley ball night, a girls spa night, and a night to relax and enjoy a chick flick. On Saturday we also had the privilege to celebrate a wedding of some friends from college. What a great time to celebrate and enjoy the company of others from college. Here are some pictures of our past week.

As you can tell, we had some fun times. This picture of Lindsay in the water is of her being adventurous and swimming in a dugout for the first time. Fun, fun, fun! Thank you Lindsay for coming to visit. I appreciate your wonderful friendship.

Golf Anyone?

This past weekend we joined Jordan's parents in camping. We had a wonderful time going for walks, golfing, eating and visiting with Jordan's aunt and uncle who came up for the day. I quite enjoy spending time with mom and dad Doerksen when we have the chance to.

Camping

I'm going to be traveling back in time to a few weekends ago. The last weekend in May, my family and I went to our cabin in the 'hills' to camp. We had a great time relaxing, eating, building bridges, taking pictures and hunting, and target practise. Here are some pictures of the weekend.

On our last morning at the cabin, I was greated by an amazing sight. I was on my way out to go use the 'out house' but I didn't get past the front door. Here's why.

Fun Filled Weekend

July 9th was a day of Celebration!! Jordan's grandparents celebrated their 50th Anniversary!
It was a beautiful day with friends and family. I'm so thankful that God has blessed Grandma and Grandpa Siemens with 50 wonderful years together.
During that weekend Jordan and I were able to host our cousins Jay and Cheri for the weekend. I really enjoyed the time spent with them and being able to get to know them better. I'm looking forward to the next time they come up to La Crete.

This past week has been busy. Jordan and I have both been working and trying to keep up with yard work. Jordan has been putting in 11 to 15 hour days at work which makes it hard to plan any evenings out with friends. It's a challenge but it's also been fun facing that challenge. As for myself I pretend to work.

Back in March Jordan and I took Stacy, Cayla, and Nichole to 365. We had a great time out there and a very interesting trip.
This bubble gum provided hours of intertainment for the three. We had no idea that package of gum we bought would be so usefull to them. Our time at 365 was refreshing. It was great to sit back and enjoy seeing God work in the lives of so many youth (as well as in my life). The event was done very well and the speaker had messages that hit home. It was worth the 18 hour drive. Visiting friends was also a great motivation for Jordan and I to go.

Some exciting news, Lindsay is coming to spend a week with us. I'm so looking forward to spending time with ther again. She's a dear friend and it's been to long a time. As some of you are aware, she's going to be moving to Africa for a while doing missions out there, so this will be a great time to hang out before she heads out. There's a lot that we hope to be able to catch up on and enjoy each others company once again.

How it all began

OK, so I'm new to this whole blog thing and I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing but here goes.

The beginning of our time together all started when we met in Youth Group at one of the local churches. From there we became friends, friends to couple and couple to married couple.

A few year back Jordan went to NBC (formerly known as NBI) for a year of schooling while I stayed home. That year was great and horrible all at the same time. But we made it through. The next fall I joined him out there. What a blessed year.

August of 2006 we got married and have been enjoying our lives together as one.
So this past year we've been playing house and going through the "Honey, I'm home!" routine. It's been a great year with it's many challenges and laughs. It's been great being at home and getting to know each others parents and being able to get involved in the church we've been attending.
